You Are a Step Away from Healthy, Strong Nails: The Cure for Dry, Brittle or Peeling Nails is in Your Kitchen Cupboard

Have been in a situation that no matter how many vitamins you take, your fingernails always seem to break easily? This makes it nearly impossible to ever grow them. Plus, it can be so painful when they catch on things and tear.

Most often the cause of weak, peeling or dry and brittle nails is water. Bathtubs and jacuzzis are relaxing for your muscles but not good for your nails. Keep your nails out of the water as much as possible. Wear gloves when doing dishes, washing the dog or bathing your child. The nail plate swells when soaked in water forcing the cells of the nail apart and causing the nail plate to become brittle and/or peel when the water evaporates and the nail returns to its normal shape. The repeated flexing of the nail caused by the swelling and consequential evaporation of water from the nail plate causes microscopic fissures in the free edge and then they peel, chip and break.

But, no need to worry. There are a few home remedies that will make your nails stronger in a matter of days.

Certain oils are great for strengthening your nails – particularly olive oil, vitamin E oil and tea tree oil! Olive oil is extremely moisturizing and easily absorbed into the skin and nails.  Soak your nails in a dish of olive oil for about 20 minutes once a week, or every day for a few minutes, to feel its full affect.  Tea tree oil is a powerful antiseptic that can remedy discolored nails and prevent fungus, in addition to repairing and strengthening damaged nails. Lastly, vitamin E oil is another great moisturizer that is rich in antioxidants and also has the added benefit of a very light scent. Apply it to your nails and cuticles and soak up its restorative properties! The following video will also show you how to easily get perfect natural nails at home.
