Go to your kitchen and check your baking sheets, pots or pans, if they have the sign PFASs, get rid of them immediately! These are some of the reasons why you should never pan fry steaks, fry chips or make pancakes in this pan which, supposedly, it is able to prevent the ingredients from sticking and getting burned.
One thing is for sure and 200 scientists agreed on it: certain types of food preparation containers, which have the label “non-sticky”, can be very dangerous for our and our family’s health!
At a symposium all of the leading world scientists, signed the so called “Madrid Document”, with a mutual statement in which they warn the entire humanity how worried they are about the wider use of poly- and Perfluoroalkyl substances every day.
These chemicals are used for manufacturing metal food containers (for example, the packing for fast food and the paper plates or “strengthened” plastic), and are characterized by the so called “non-sticky cover” which prevents the food from sticking to the bottom or burning.
Studies have been conducted on animals and showed that certain types of PFASs can lead to disrupted functioning of the endocrine and immune system, liver poisoning and metabolism weakening.
Unfortunately, these toxins are not only present in the food which is stored or cooked into them, but, also, under the influence of heat, they easily spread in the air, and then from the air to the drinking water, the soil poisoning the entire environment.
Scientists call upon manufacturers of food preparation containers to stop using PFASs chemicals in an article published in the magazine “Environmental Health Perspectives”, especially since today there are numerous other alternatives for manufacturing such pans in which the food cannot stick or burn.
This is a very simple but very useful advice for all housewives: if you see the above mentioned signs on the food containers which you use, get rid of them once and for all! And don’t forget to share in order to warn you friends and help someone in need!
